The pizza box, which had suffered major damage from the floods of last September, is reopening its doors this Thursday for lunch service.
Since 2008, La Boîte à pizza has occupied a prominent place in the Jasmin district. A pizzeria known to the Agen clientele that the manager, Hassan Taabdallate has not seen for nearly eight months. An eternity for this entrepreneur still bogged down in an obstacle course. “Last September, like many Agen residents, we were among the victims of the bad weather that hit Agen. The heavy rains flooded the building whose ground floor we occupy through the roof. superior destroyed the ceiling and a substantial part of our equipment. We had to close and declare to the insurance the damage we suffered”. The story could have ended there but Hassan Taabdallate still does not see the end of this tunnel. “We have respected, with supporting evidence, the legal obligations and deadlines, but the compensation is slow. We have been forced to call in a lawyer and we are in the process before the courts”. A procedure that further complicates the already difficult situation for the entrepreneur. “We have done temporary work to welcome new customers in good conditions. We hope that the procedure will be completed soon even if we know that it will be long. The main thing is to be able to reopen because this situation has financially impacted our structure. We could have avoided all this with quick compensation”, explains the restaurateur impatient to resume normal activity.
New start and new menu for this reopening including three new pizzas which are added to a menu also offering sandwiches, salads, pasta au gratin or appetizer platters to share. “We have decreasing menus and pizzas from €7.90!”, explains the owner of the place. See you this Thursday, May 12 at 11 a.m. for the reopening.
