It’s now official, Apple has obtained the rights to a film around F1. Brad Pitt will star. He would play a former Formula 1 driver coming out of retirement to mentor a young driver, while seizing his last opportunity to triumph on the track. The Oscar-winning actor for Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood will also take on the role of co-director alongside Sir Lewis Hamilton and the director of Top Gun: Maverick, Joseph Kosinski.

The streaming platform has had to battle with other competitors, following the resurgence of popularity of F1 in recent years. The agreement around this project would place its budget around 140 million euros. No release date has yet been announced.
