Jimmy Neuvet, father of the Piccolo Truck, not happy with his success, has moved up a gear. At the beginning of May, he opened the restaurant version of his truck in Place du Peuple.

“The food truck worked so well and so quickly that I wanted to switch to its restaurant version without delay,” he enthuses. In October 2021, after only three months of Piccolo truck, and at the height of its activity, the young man decides to stop it to look for a room. Six months later, he stumbled upon a place at 39 Place du Peuple.

“Word of mouth was enough to bring in customers”

Two months of work later, it opens on May 5: “Word of mouth was enough to bring in customers. All of our food truck customers were there, adds Jimmy. After two weeks of opening, nearly 600 people have already come. »

No wonder, when you listen to the young man, a thirty-year-old with infectious energy. “I took two months to secure the launch, without giving up my work as a management controller at Casino and sport,” he explains.

A team united by the love of pizza and crossfit

Because, in addition to being a fan of pizza, the entrepreneur is also a sports enthusiast. Whenever he has a moment, he practices crossfit. So much so that he met a good part of his current team there. “We are a very tight-knit little band, we see each other five days a week at crossfit. One day, I proposed this crazy idea to them to launch with me in the restaurant Piccolo. And they all agreed! »

A cozy-chill spirit with innovative, simple and quality dishes

As for the menu, 13 Neapolitan pizzas with a light dough, cooked in a wood oven, with new products twice a week… “I draw a lot of inspiration from Parisian chefs, like Mamaioa, who trained me. »

For the concept, the pizza fan keeps the spirit of the Piccolo truck: cozy-chill with innovative dishes, made from simple, quality products. “We released a pistachio tiramisu and people are already coming just to taste it! »

Le Piccolo Truck: 39 place du Peuple in Saint-Étienne, on site or to take away, Wednesday to Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
